Just posting there here in hopes of informing people once this forum gets back to life, if it does. Quoting this post (adding some comments of mine in parenthesis):
Attention Mercenaries!Big news for Evie fans. Evie’s Staff is about to be revamped in a big way!
Read on to find out about all the changes that should get staff Evies really excited!
Evie’s Staff will undergo changes in the following four aspects:
1.
Magic Arrow as a Basic Attack • Fire Magic Arrows simply by pressing normal attack (mouse: left click, keyboard: S)
• Complete the bonus goal “Defeat with normal attacks” using Magic Arrows
• Keep in mind this attack will cost you stamina (Stamina consumption was heavily reduced)
2.
Alchemy Box
• Take an Alchemy Box into battle with you, and now take many Alchemy Kits with you!
• Applies not only to Staff Evie but also Battle Scythe Evie
• Place the Alchemy Box into the quick slot and press the corresponding number key to use it
• Press “Esc” to close the quick slot pop-up window
• Other changes:
Mercury Binder - No longer a secondary weapon
- Can be used like other forms of alchemy
- Activate them faster, and take more into battle with you!
Mana Pistol
- Brand new Alchemy Kit (you can only place 2 at a time)
- Learn it at Level 56 to use its large amount of firepower! (When placed, it acts as an obstacle impeding pass through it. This will get fixed later.)
3.
Mana Amber
• Press the Dodge key twice, and hold it to use this new skill (Lasts 3 secs max. You can cancel it early by letting go spacebar.)
• Protect Evie even in the most dangerous situations! (It can absorb a fixed amount of damage, which depends on rank)
• Energies from the staff solidify and surround the caster’s body (When in Amber state, you become a physics object like any other thing in vindictus. If you get hit, you will fly away, etc.)
• Use Mana Amber to withstand attacks from even the strongest enemies (However, you are not completely invincible. Once you hit the damage cap your amber can absorb, it'll break and damage will go through it.)
• Will use an enormous amount of Stamina (50 stamina at Rank F.)
4.
Concentration
• Perform all staff magic (with the exception of Magic Arrow) through Concentration (Also a rankable skill)
• Hold down Smash to fill up the gauge to use Concentration (mouse: right click, keyboard: D) (you can also do quick-charge, which consists of you pressing and holding the samsh key quicker to increase focus speed)
• Use a skill through Concentration by pressing a direction key
• Use the following magic skills at the appropriate level:
Concentration Level 1:
Skill:Mana Mine (Magic Mine) Healing CoronaHow to cast:Press S (or the down arrow) during Concentration Level 1 (for Mana Mine)
Press A (or the Left arrow) during Concentration Level 1 (for Healing Corona)
Description/changes:
• Previously cast through Eagle Talon rank 9, now its own skill (However, you can still cast it with Eagle Talon. This new version is weaker but is casted faster.)
• Can be cast quickly
• Decreased damage and duration but costs less Stamina
• Evie’s Staff healing skill is now the Healing Corona (When casted, it leaves a 'corona' with 5 healing pearls in the floor)
• Allows you to restore a significant amount of HP to nearby party members (Players must walk by the corona to get healed by it)
• Once healed by it, party members cannot be healed by the Healing Corona again for two minutes (It will give you a debuff called Mana Zeal, preventing you from healing again in 2 minutes. In addition to this individual cooldown, Healing Corona itself has another cooldown dependant on skill rank)
• Healing Rune is no longer available
Concentration Level 2:
Skill:FireboltIce BlastHow to cast:Press S (or the down arrow) during Concentration Level 2
Press A (or the Left arrow) during Concentration Level 2Description/changes:
• Now has a much shorter cooldown (from fixed 30 seconds, to as low as 8 seconds with high ranks)
• Distance has been increased but power has been decreased
• Strike multiple enemies in front of you with freezing air (AoE is a small circle of about 1 or 2 meters)
• Freeze regular monsters (chance of doing so are pretty high)
• Increase your chance of freezing your enemy by increasing your skill rank
• Has a cooldown period before it can be used again (However, it is pretty much spammable, specially at high ranks)
Concentration Level 3:
Skill:Ice SpearHow to cast:
Press S (or the down arrow) during Concentration Level 3Description/changes:
• Fire a sharp, powerful ice crystal straight ahead (range is about the same as firebolt)
• Powerful enough to freeze huge boss monsters! (chances are also quite decent, and when a boss is frozen while doing an attack, its hitbox can still damage you. It also doesn't interrupts bosses' attacks, so you must be careful when attacking a frozen boss.)
• Freezing duration decreases each time a boss is frozen and after a certain number of times will no longer freeze them (It actually happens pretty fast)
Concentration Level 4:
Skill:
Blind ArrowHow to cast:
Press S (or the down arrow) during Concentration Level 4Description/changes:
• Fire multiple Magic Arrows forward (Rank of Magic Arrow doesn't affect its damage)
• Range and power have decreased (Before, it was an SP skill with literally infinite range and a huge damage modifier with also huge critical hit percentiles)
• Cooldown period has been added (In compensation for no longer being a 2 bar SP skill)
Stay tuned for additional magic skills in each Concentration Level! (There hasn't been any new spells yet, but devCAT must be getting some ready).
Also, the NA version of the game - for some really odd reason - got Clipped Wings (Called Turtle Leg in the korean version), a 2 bar SP skill that slows down trash mobs and mini bosses. This skill was removed with the staff revamp in the KR ver. but we still got it. Neat.
